Birds of Naukan by Creation VI & Ugasanie

Together with the labels NEBOSVOD and ΠΑΝΘΕΟΝ we're glad to present the proper reissue of the work, first published in 2015 in a small edition of 80 copies. This is a collaboration album recorded by the projects Creation VI and Ugasanie and dedicated to several sacred places of Chukotka, such as the Whale Bone Alley on Yttigran island and a collection of ancient rock engravings on the Pegtymel river. The album was inspired by the documentary "Chukotka: The Coast of Memory" directed by Andris Slapiņš and poems of the Yupik poetess Zoya Nenlyumkina, who was born in the now deserted village of Naukan, which at that time was the easternmost settlement of Eurasia.

Petroglyphs carved on stones along rivers, bird colonies and herds of walruses, whale skulls dug in the coast hundreds of years ago - many images were captured in the sounds of this album. Mouth harps and ocarins, throat singing, field recordings and transparent iridescence of cold creeping ambient, saturated with echoes of shamanistic rituals, cries of bird flocks and songs that the ocean sings to heavens, while playing on coastal pebbles.

  • Mutton bird mystery at Victoria's Griffiths Island closely watched by birdwatchers, Environment Department.

If they're not dead, where are they?

That's the question being asked by birdwatchers in south-west Victoria following the first spring in living memory that the 40,000-strong colony of short-tailed shearwaters, also known as mutton birds, hasn't arrived in full.

Each year, hundreds of thousands of the birds descend on Victoria's coastline to breed following a 15,000-kilometre journey, which takes two months to complete.

The birds spend the northern summer around Alaska before traveling to Australia, where they usually arrive with precision.

But this year in south-west Victoria they're late: a whole month late.

Breeding colony a no-show for the first time in living memory
Usually by this time of year, there'd be 40,000 mutton birds on south-west Victoria's Griffiths Island. So far, fewer than 100 of the birds have arrived from their 15,000km journey from the northern hemisphere.

  • 1. Humans make one random crow 'famous'.
    2. Fandom and jealousy ensue.
    3. Crow gets 'legal protection' from stalkers.
    4. Someone abducts the humanized crow anyway.
    5. 'Laws' accomplish nothing; humans sworn to 'protect' him take no action.
    6. Thousands of upset humans who would never have been sad before reading about a 'famous crow' cry out 'injustice!' Petition to save that one crow appear. "Thoughts and prayers" (posted everywhere).
    7. I sigh (again) at this global pattern over my entire 50 year lifetime.

Meanwhile I've known over 50 crows throughout my lifetime, some close enough I could pet them, and all were born wild and stayed wild. My stories would amazing some, but not the native chiefs I've met, who understand us (crow and Crow alike). There's far more to this 'physical reality' than most will ever discover. I have 3 new crow friends at my new home already. (Plus 7 other species of animals (not birds)).

What lessons are other humans learning... if any? Seriously... put your thoughts into words and explain this lesson to me - is there more than one?

What I (TOHLPC) see happening: If you make a 'non-human' friend, don't tell anyone, especially the public... humans ruin everything through jealousy and ignorance. You cannot educate every human fast enough to stop bad things from happening by making everyone look at you (share, explain). Animals are better off without human intervention ('laws', 'rules', 'protection', 'parading', 'merchandise'). If you do not understand this then you are not a spiritual being... and at the very least not a wise one. Friendship is one thing, sharing each other is fine, but parading and 'sharing' only makes a mess of things due to human fear and jealousy... every time. Animals are right to avoid humans; the only animal that intentionally creates nuclear waste and are so ignorant as to fear their own bodies ('laws' against having one) while believing in the invisible bogey man in the sky.

Still... I miss seeing you, Canuck... but I WARNED YOU where this would lead. Now you know I was right (what happens when any creature ignores my wisdom and/or awareness, no matter their excuse).

  • They keep you scared so you think you need them.
They are all two-headed birds flapping both wings at the same time.
"It's a big club, and you ain't in it! They don't give a fuck about you!... At all." (Carlin)
It's all an act, a freak show on the world stage, to keep you mentally occupied and distracted... but you don't need them, truly.

  • No matter what you do, some opinionated egotistical religious person who needs their virtue-signalling dopamine fix will tell you what you're doing wrong and how to fix it, and if you show them you are already doing what they just suggested and their whole world falls apart with your brutally honest non-addicted logic, they call you 'evil' or 'stupid' because you are not a member of their beLIEf system.

Four examples of replies to the 'suggestion' that I get to know birds better (LOL, the ignorance is fucking staggering), and the 'suggestion' that I 'discover the real Jesus, (Here we go with yet another cult member trying to CONVERT everyone in their path as usual), and the 'suggestion' that I 'learn more' about their specific particular method of dopamine fixation (sighs), and that I'm 'stupid' for not 'understanding their wise messages correctly' about the bogey man in the sky meme as they have decided 'god' SHOULD BE and have publicly told me "buh bye" as a result (wah wah cried the tantrum baby).
